Railroad? What’s going on here? Not long ago the mayor was claiming to be against sprawl. Has he changed his mind? Surely he can figure out that anything which relieves rush hour traffic on US-23 north of Ann Arbor is simply going to encourage further sprawl. Or can’t he? Is there any better way to get people to move to the country than to make it easy to get into town and back? Why doesn’t he just urge MDOT not to improve US.23? And how about leaning on the County Road Commission to stop extending the widening of Jackson Rd. and to do nothing about the railroad underpass at the western edge of Dexter?

And, while he is at it, why doesn’t he point out the fiscal advantage of poor snow removal along country residential roads and the safety advantage of reducing the speed limit along N. Territorial Rd.? Incidentally, if the AA Railroad were abandoned, its owner could give the part that goes through central Ann Arbor to the city for the greenway. To memorialize the gift the city might build, in the park, a big wheel that goes round and round but doesn’t go anywhere - a Ferris wheel!
